Art Youth Worker

Ideally, you will have experience delivering one or more of the following arts:

  • Textiles or fashion, Garment Customisation, Sewing, Crocheting, Knitting

  • Clay, Ceramics, Glazing, Moulding, Woodwork, Sculpture

  • Fine art, oil painting, watercolour, oil pastel, sketching and drawing

  • Digital art, animation, design, grafitti, set design, photography

Music Youth Worker

Ideally, you will have experience delivering one or more of the following arts:

  • Music teaching experience and the ability to teach a musical instrument to a high leveL
  • Ensemble teaching experience, including the ability to create a youth musical ensemble
  • Percussion teaching experience and the ability to teach a range of rhythmic instruments
  • Experience or background in music styles including but not limited to Jazz, Pop, Blues, Folk, Dance, Dancehall, Rock, Rap, Spoken Word, Country, Classical, Punk, Techno, R&B

Catering Assistant

WEST Youth Zone offers both a nutritious hot meal and a tuck shop service on every session that we run. Whilst the Kitchen Supervisor cooks the food, the Catering Assistants serve the food and are integral to the successful operation of catering for the young people. You wil be responsible for food hygiene, using the EPOS machine to sel items and manage stock, serving food, interacting with young people, washing up and keeping the kitchen clean, doing statutory paperwork and cashing up. Depending on the rota and your own cooking abilities, there may also be opportunities for you to teach cooking to young people directly in our training kitchen.

Pottery & Ceramics Instructor (in partnership with FiredUp4)

The arts offer at WEST is wide-ranging and includes visual arts, music, media, dance and drama. As a member of the Arts Team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and creative arts programme that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. You will plan and deliver a high quality programme focused on our FiredUp4 Project. This involves delivering ‘Try’ activities to over 20 young people per month and delivering ‘Clay Clubs’ twice a week. The role will require you to work with Juniors (8 – 12 yrs) and/or Seniors (13 – 19 yrs) and/or Beyond (members with additional needs up to 25 yrs).
