On Tuesday 11th November, we welcomed our incredible Patrons and friends to a very special evening at 1 EdCity, just next door to WEST Youth Zone. Their stunning rooftop space, with panoramic views across the city, provided the perfect setting for an evening of celebration, reflection, and connection.
The reception was a celebration and thank you to those who make WEST’s mission possible. Guests saw first-hand how their contributions are transforming the lives of young people in West London. This was not just through numbers and stories, but through seeing brilliant artwork and experiencing a vibrant junior session first hand with tours from WEST staff.
A highlight of the evening was the private view of WEST’s annual art exhibition, featuring an inspiring collection of artwork, sculptures, photography, and collages created by talented members, including digital pieces from our Media Squad. The creativity on display was a powerful reminder of the impact of supportive spaces for self-expression.
Guests were treated to handmade delicious canapés, all prepared in the WEST training kitchen by our young people alongside the brilliant catering team from WEST’s BiteCity. It was a true showcase of the amazing skills being developed every day at WEST.
Throughout the evening, guests were invited to take guided tours of WEST Youth Zone, where a lively junior session was in full swing. The buzz of activity and laughter was the perfect backdrop to the evening!
The night was rounded off with a selection of special speakers, including our young members, sharing why WEST is so important to them. Stephanie Dean from GSK spoke about their renewed support for WEST and OnSide via STEM based workshops and WEST’s Founding Chair, Mark Davies, talked passionately about the role he has played over the last eight years, taking WEST from an ambitious idea right through to an action-packed Youth Zone.
