At WEST Youth Zone, we are thankful for our incredible partnerships such as Founder Patrons, Harrods. Their commitment to empowering communities helps us make a real difference for local young people. Recently, we had a chat with Emma Farthing, Inclusion and Wellbeing Strategy Lead at Harrods, about why and how they support WEST.
“At Harrods, charity and community are an integral part of our ESG strategy. We are committed to creating opportunities that empower community members and enable them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. The amazing work done at WEST Youth Zone does exactly this and Harrods is proud to be a founding partner. Our head office is based in Hammersmith – a short distance away from WEST – and this partnership is a meaningful opportunity to create a positive impact within our local community.
To date, we have supported WEST through various colleague-led fundraising events such as colleague charity sales, charity raffles and our Belonging Network events. We have also donated beauty products to WEST’s Glow and Grow programme, which supports young people working towards beauty qualifications. Harrods colleagues are committed to sharing their personal and professional skills as we continue to work together to educate and inspire the young people at WEST.
I have spent time with the team at WEST and the facility is incredible, it really enables young people to develop new skills for their personal and professional lives. If I had to pick a favourite space, it would be the music room. Complete with its own recording studio, the music room offers a well-equipped and safe space for the young people at WEST to identify and nurture budding talents.
