From August 18th to 21st, members of WEST Youth Zone went on an unforgettable residential trip to PGL Osmington Bay. Members from our Senior Club and Young Leaders, a programme designed for young people aged 14–18 to develop their leadership skills and building confidence through new challenges, were selected to take part.
Set along the stunning Jurassic Coast, the trip was packed with exciting activities including the giant swing, archery, zip line, team games, fencing, sea swimming, and campfire nights. Each moment was an opportunity to grow, connect, and step outside comfort zones.
Here’s what some of our young people had to say:
Ali: “PGL was the best. The activities were so fun, it made me even more confident and gave me courage to try new things. It helped give me ideas to see how I can engage young people with certain team building exercises.”
Treshan: “PGL was fun, I enjoyed the activities and it gave me the opportunity to socialise with others. PGL allowed me to overcome some fears and challenges.”
JN: “PGL was nice, it had many fun activities to do. I loved everything we did. I learned how to work in a team, how to communicate better, how to prepare myself for challenges, and to learn new skills.”
Shaheeda: “PGL was fun as I got to do so many activities. It was very unique for me and I’m thankful for WEST for taking me. I learnt that I should step outside my comfort zone and try new things more often. The giant swing was the best activity!”
This trip was more than just a summer getaway: it was a chance for members to build confidence, strengthen and create new friendships, and develop the skills they’ll carry into their futures.
