Hours: Permanent: full-time, 37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)

Salary: £27,000-30,000 (dependent upon experience)

Location: Hammersmith & Fulham Youth Zone. Once the Youth Zone is open your place of work will be there. In the months prior to the Youth Zone opening (which is estimated to be at the end of 2023) you will be contracted to work in an office opposite the Youth Zone’s site in Scale Space, White City.

As a lead member of the delivery team, you will work across all Youth Zone sessions and have lead responsibility for either:

  • Junior Club offer to 8-12 year olds or;
  • Senior Club offer to 13-19 year olds and up to 25 for those with additional needs

Ensuring there is a high-quality, creative and fun offer, which focuses on the needs of young people and is in line with the Youth Zone’s aspirations to provide young people with the best possible experiences and opportunities. You will have a passion to put young people first.

You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the delivery and inputting towards the strategic delivery plan for the Youth Zone. This is a fun, exciting and challenging role in a new, growing, and ambitious charity with up to 250 young people attending a session and no two days will ever be the same.

The ‘Rec’ is at the very heart of the Youth Zone, where every young person enters and spends time in at some point during every visit. This role will be responsible for creating a space that is warm, welcoming, active, full of life and challenge. Our Holiday Clubs give young people a place to go when they’re on school holidays. This post holder will be responsible for creating a lively, dynamic, inspired and fun-loving ‘rec’ environment for all young people aged 8- 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) year-round. During Holiday Cub they will be responsible for coordinating an exciting offer across the youth zone and acting as ‘session lead’.

Location: Hammersmith & Fulham Youth Zone. Once the Youth Zone is open your place of work will be there. In the months prior to the Youth Zone opening (which is estimated to be at the end of 2023) you will be contracted to work in an office opposite the Youth Zone’s site in Scale Space, White City.

Our Coordinators are crucial members of our delivery team, responsible for an exciting programme of activities for their given area. We want to make sure that we have an exciting offer for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs), at WEST youth zone.

  • Our Inclusion Coordinator will work with the other Coordinators to make sure that our provision is inclusive, supports community cohesion and provides an environment where members of diverse demographics, ethnic communities and those with additional needs feel safe, involved and welcome. You will put routines in place for all our sessions to ensure young people with disabilities or other needs are well supported by all staff and volunteers. As well as this, you will lead a team of inclusion sessional workers to deliver a first-class inclusion session on Sundays, tailored for young people with additional needs.
  • Our Arts Coordinator will design and deliver creative arts activities for young people, overseeing the programmes for the Arts and Crafts room, Dance/Drama studio, Film and Media room, and the Music Studio. As well as this, they will provide line management support, coaching and development for arts sessional workers in their areas.
  • Our Sports Coordinator will design and deliver sports activities for young people, overseeing the programmes for the Sports Hall, Kick Pitch, Gym, Boxing Room, and the Rock-Climbing Wall. As well as this, they will provide line management support, coaching and development for sports sessional workers in their areas.

Facilities Manager

WEST’s Facilities Manager is responsible for keeping our members, staff and volunteers safe by managing and maintaining our fantastic soon-to-open Youth Zone effectively and efficiently. The key purpose of the role is to ensure compliance and contractual obligations are met throughout, whilst maintaining an efficient and operational building. The post holder will carry out and manage multi-disciplined activities including housekeeping, maintenance, general maintenance duties, security and health and safety. This is a varied role and the ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing similar types of buildings, e.g. schools, college/university, sports or leisure centres or other large, multi-use/function buildings.
